OpenVPN for Windows Installation Guide

This document will guide you throught the installation process of OpenVPN for Windows.

  1. Download OpenVPN from https://openvpn.net/downloads/openvpn-connect-v3-windows.msi
  2. Open the client installer from your Downloads and launch the msi installer for openvpn and click next:
  3. Read and click I Agree to indicate your agreement:
  4. Choose the location to install the program files for the Desktop Client and click Install to begin:
  5. You are now ready to install the Desktop Client, ensure TAP Virtual Eth Adapter and OpenVPN GUI are checked:
  6. Please wait while the Desktop Client Installs, click Next when complete:
  7. You may see a warning asking you to install the Desktop Clients TAP Adapter, check the box that says “Always trust software from “OpenVPN Technologies, Inc.” and click Install:
  8. The Desktop Client is now installed, click Finish to complete the installation:

  9. With Chrome or any other browser, browse to https://GIVEN_IP/ and login with your given username and password.

  10. Afer login download the autologin profile.
  11. You will also notice an orange icon in your taskbar.  You can control the VPN from there. Choose Import from local file and import downloaded autologin profile
  12. If you wish to connect to the VPN, click the orange icon and then select "GIVEN_IP" and then select "Connect..."
  13. When logged into the VPN, you'll see the orange icon in the taskbar with a green checkmark.
